OOAK.Original piece of Boston nostalgia and history in 1922!Antique vintage Boston Sunday newspaper,before women could vote! I collaged interesting articles.Advertisements from boston's favorite stores,Filene's and Jordan Marsh no longer in existence.I found at a yard sale this summer in coastal community where I live. Embellished with vintage New England treasures.Adorned with celluloid or bakelite pink floral brooch another yard sale find.Hand dried roses and wild rose vines I collect from beach dunes.Vintage shabby lace,hand tea dyed peach pink corset pieces and ribbon.Vintage rhinestones,bakelite buttons from Nantucket Island antique shop.Lovely shabby vintage wallpaper,millinery.Stands 33".Sealed with clear,non yellowing polyurethane.

Happy Pink Saturday Facebook Miracle...!

Good Morning,I have a 'Facebook' miracle to share this morning.
I signed up for Facebook about a month ago,for the heck of it I put my sisters name in search.This photo below showed up with her name and was not sure if it was her because she was missing for over 25 yrs.The last time I saw her I was maid- of- honor at her wedding to the man in photo.After she was married she 'poof' disappeared which was very heartbreaking for years.Unfortunately I do not come from a traditional family,dysfunctional with a capital'D'.Everyone seprated as adults and went MIA most of my adult life I have been alone and did not have a family of my own due to certain personal issues.
Anyway I sent her an email through Facebook when I found her.The first response was from her daughter in photo my neice!Then several weeks later I recieved a brief email from my sister and she stated she did not understand Facebook how it works etc...and have not heard from her since.My niece however..has communicated a couple times through Facebook email.. Kaily is a cheerleader in H.S.and the two boys are my nephews.
I have been very careful not to be overbearing in communicating and feel awkward connecting and really do not know how to after all these years? Last contact with neice was before Halloween and am leaving it up to them to contact me,I shared my email but have not heard anything....is it not safe to send telephone number thru facebook email? Any suggestions?

"Whew! what a party with the HPS and Halloween Party combined into one..I will be blogging till 2012! I am so grateful that I was up till midnight and had energy and woke up refreshed this morning? I am in pain as usual but not as severe as I thought I would be,esp in this weather which puts me down till June! I have heat on 90 and keeping my body warm wrapped in blanket and hot tea at my computer,thats a good costume!......I was expecting to be wiped out in bed today.I have not had this much clarity and energy for 9 yrs!

My best costume,I was a Southern Belle.I found a big puffy pink tulle vintage prom gown with hoop underneath the skirt and it had a matching tulle bonnet with huge pink roses.By the end of the Halloween night festivities I looked like Scarlett O'Hara in the scene where she was all tattered and torn in the mud covered in dirt.Not a practical costume for a country girl from Concord,Mass. at that time.
Salem has become Disney.
Still pondering at this age what to wear at 54 yrs to Salem this year,if I can go? I have fibro and arthritis,the damp and cold is wretched...Any suggestions ideas for a warm costume??

A Last Beachplum Rose Happy Pink Saturday

"Most of if not all the beachplum roses along the beach are almost all gone now. I was greeted by this one precious rose.I said "Your beautiful and thank you for enduring the cool autumn seabreeze along the shore." I think maybe the 'townies' and summer residents must think I am the 'nutty' lady that talks to the flowers!!" Later I was pleasantly surprised by the pink fairy aura in left corner of the photo...maybe the roses friend?
Next when I arrived home I saw construction on an old cottage shed and hustled for the salvage door and panels.I found this pink buoy washed up on the beach by Shabby Mermaids.What a lucky day!

Writing Love Letters

Who says married people can no longer write love letters? Love letters are a wonderful way to express your faithful devotion to your spouse or rekindle those flames of romance that are sometimes neglected as husbands and wives. Here are a few tips adapted from Michelle Lovric's How to Write Love Letters on writing the perfect love letter.

1.Write your letter with your own hand. It not only shows how genuine you are, but the effort you have made in writing it. Make you signature memorable as it is a symbol of who you are. Write neatly and elegantly.

2.Use good quality paper, like plain ivory vellum. Avoid paper that is decorated to the point of being hard to read the actual letter.

3.A fountain pen has a certain romantic quality about it. But in the least, stick with using a clear black pen to write with.

4.Before writing your letter, make sure you are clear in your own mind about the purpose of the letter. Is it to celebrate your marital bliss? Mend an argument? Reminisce about your life together?

5.Be specific in your writing about what you appreciate about your spouse. A specific description about what attributes (physical or personal) you adore or admire will garner greater response than a general statement about your spouse's character. For example, "I love the way you glance at me across the room when we are in company" is more descriptive and personal than "You are very considerate of me." Your spouse will respond to the intimate details that you have lovingly observed.

6.Try not to pursue the trivial in your love letter. Make your letter something that your spouse will want to keep forever, a memento of love and passion, undiluted by trivia or mundane technicalities.

7.Write in a conversational style that is true to yourself. Try also to use proper grammar without being stiff. Individuality is the greatest delight of a letter. The most cherished letters are those in which the writer's soul has been poured out on paper. Write a letter that no one but you could have written.

8.Avoid copious underlining and capitals. IT LOOKS LIKE SHOUTING!!!

9.By all means be witty in your letters, but avoid irony and teasing.

10.Write from the heart. Using quotes or lines of poetry written by another can be appropriate, but the bulk of the letter should be your own.
